Lorenzo Mansfield (1828-1915) [not our direct ancestor, he was the son of Ephraim Mansfield, 1790-1841, the brother of Ephraim Sylvester Edmands, 1825-1910, who are our direct ancestors] served as Private in the 40th Regiment of the Massachusetts Volunteers from 1862 through 1865. World War II, 1939-1945Edmands, Allan Christie, I, 1911-1945 In addition, Allan's first cousins, the brothers Nathaniel Melvin "Nat" Edmands I (1915-1992), Wilfred S. Edmands (1917-1944), Milton A. "Mit" Edmands (1920-1986), and Nelson Wilfred "Sonny" Edmands II (b. 1922) [not our direct ancestors, they are all sons of Nelson Wilfred Edmands I, 1875-1950, grandsons of Artemas Seymour Edmands, 1837-1920] fought in the war.
