Aaron MacBean

Aaron was part of the adaptive Sentimental Generation. [ The MacBean tartan ] [ The MacBean tartan and badge ]

He was from the MacBean Clan (sometimes spelled MacBain or McVean; the Gaelic name was MacBheathain), probably the MacBean of Tomatin in Strathdearn. His family seems to have lived near Inverness, at the head of Moray Firth in northern Scotland. (Click either of the illustrations for an enlargement.)

The warlike MacBean Clan had supported the Mackintosh Clan (containing another set of our ancestors) against the Red Comyn in the 1411 Battle of Harlaw.
